The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a public university. The university is located in the city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in the year 1875 as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College Sir Syed Ahmed Khan but after some year the university name was changed as Aligarh Muslim University in the year 1920. The University was affiliated by the UGC, NAAC and ALU. The university has more than 200 departments.
